Todd & Katie

Todd is the owner of TBE Equipment and also owns Pier Pups. Katie (shown here with two of the couple’s Golden Retrievers) owns and operates her own business, Think Pawsitive in Waukesha. Todd was born in Green Bay (yes, he’s a Packers fan), moved to Waukesha at age 12 and graduated from Waukesha South High School. He and Katie live with a family of “kids who are furry and have four legs.”

TBE Equipment was established in 1994 to bring high-quality lawn and garden equipment to southern Wisconsin. It began by selling trailers and in 2006 expanded to outdoor power equipment. Todd purchased the business in 2018 and in 2022 a second location in Richfield was opened to better serve customers and reach a wider audience across southern Wisconsin.

When customers started asking for trailers to transport equipment, TBE Equipment added a full line that ranges in size and shape and includes both covered and open-board. Today, our customers come from all over Wisconsin and surrounding states to purchase the perfect trailer to meet their transportation needs. Whether you are a weekend warrior or a landscape professional, TBE Equipment provides quality products and services.

MAXWELL BRADT  Max is the general manager of TBE Equipment’s Watertown location. He’s proud of the friendly, customer-focused atmosphere at TBE and enjoys building relationships with customers. He has a background in sales, outdoor equipment and landscaping, so TBE is a great fit for him.  He appreciates working at an independent, locally owned business where the owner is easily accessible and customer service is important. “We're more like the old-school business model,” he says. “Handshakes mean something to us.” As general manager TBE Equipment’s Watertown location, Max handles the day-to-day running of the store and is eager to help the business grow. He’s proud that TBE is an honest, transparent company that is up-front with customers. He makes himself accessible to customers for any questions they have. One of the best parts of the job, Max says, is watching someone pick up a new lawn mower or tractor — “a new toy” – and drive down the road with it. Raised in the West Bend area, Max now lives in Slinger. KYLE CHRISTOFILIS Kyle is the general manager of TBE Equipment’s Richfield location. He loves the chance to help people find equipment solutions for work and play. Working with outdoor equipment, he says with a laugh, “is a lot of guys’ dream job.” But what he likes most about his work is an atmosphere that feels like family, where team members wear smiles on their faces and welcome customers warmly. Kyle started out in the restaurant business after earning his culinary degree, and when he decided he needed a change of pace he settled on sales. As general manager of TBE Equipment’s Richfield location, he handles the day-to-day running of the store and enjoys meeting the many kinds of customers he encounters, from business owners to homeowners to outdoor enthusiasts. Kyle grew up in the West Bend area. He and his wife, Ashley, are renovating a “big old fixer-upper” of a house and property, so he understands the importance of using the right tools to get the job done. Besides the renovations, Kyle enjoys spending time with his son and tries to find time to pursue his woodworking hobby. MATT HAKENJOS

Matt is the general manager of TBE’s Appleton location. Previously, he worked at I-41 Trailer
Center, which was purchased by TBE in early 2023. His job there was in maintenance and
repair, so he knows TBE’s products inside and out.

As general manager, Matt likes the variety of running the Appleton location’s day-to-day
business. He especially likes knowing that every day is a chance to find just the right product for
a TBE customer, whether it’s off the show floor or a customized solution. “Fulfilling someone’s
unique need is the most fulfilling part of the job.”

Matt grew up in Black Creek, WI. He got his start in a variety of equipment-maintenance roles,
and at one time helped build fire engines at Pierce Manufacturing. He lives in Appleton with his
wife and their two children. His family loves to camp, and in his spare time Matt is often
operating radio-controlled cars or working in his home shop on woodworking and metal
fabrication projects.
